Custom Printed Packing Tape Builds Your Brand and Sells Your Products

Packing tapes can be plain, printed with stock messages or can be custom printed packing tapes. The last option can convert your packages into brand ambassadors. The custom printing typically involves printing the company logo, name and contact details on the packing tape.
You can of course use the printing option to print customized handling instructions and such routine purposes. However, the real value lies in using them to promote your brand and products.
Enhancing the Effectiveness of Custom Printed Packing Tapes
To be effective, the promotional messages need some special attention. They must be designed tastefully and for high visibility. The printing and background color must be selected carefully. The elements of the message should be laid out for immediate comprehension and strong impact.
Your message will then attract attention and be understood clearly by several people during its transit. If you ship thousands of packages and these go to many different destinations, there is every possibility that it will be seen by persons who are looking for just the product or service you are offering.
The contact details, if immediately visible, can then help these persons to contact you. You then get the opportunity to convert this person into a new customer. Even if no such sales take place, your brand will gain recognition. The strong-impact branding message will imprint itself on the minds of many persons, living at distant places.
Custom Printed Packing Tape
Packing tapes are made with different kinds of materials, such as paper, polypropylene, vinyl, PVC, and so on. They might be adhesive tapes or strapping tapes. Adhesive tapes use different kinds of glues, such as acrylic and rubber-based, depending on requirements such as speed and strength of adhesion.
Understand your specific packing needs. Are the packages lightweight, medium weight, or heavyweight? Do you use single-wall or multi-wall or corrugated cartons? Are the packages likely to be under or over packed at times? All these factors affect the kind of packing tape that you should use.
Select the right kind of packaging tape that will handle your packing requirements well. Then attend to the converting them into promotional media. Narrow tapes might allow only a little information to be visible at a time. Just your logo and name, and probably a contact phone number, might be all that it can accommodate. Wider tapes provide more real estate to build your design.
It is important that the design should be tasteful, and highly visible. Do you have the needed design expertise? If not, it is better to call upon the specialized design experience of the packaging tape supplier. They would typically be able to design and deliver custom printed packaging tapes that effectively convey your promotional message.

How To Choose Hand Held Strapping Machine

So you've been given the task of bundling together a big pile of small boxes. Lets say shoe box size boxes, and lets that there are twenty of them. So there you are, surrounded by twenty shoe-box sized boxes, and you've got to get these boxes into some kind of manageable state because they have just been designated for shipment to a new storage facility. As if you weren't lost in the task already, you're superior has just informed you that you have six minutes to get these boxes in some kind of order.
At this juncture it might be time to inform you that you are working alone in this task. That's right, you have to somehow get twenty shoe-box shaped boxed into a transportable, storable state on your own, in virtually no time at all. But don't worry, because I think I have the solution to you. In truth I could offer you several solutions, but one in particular stands out as the dynamic, economic and less wasteful solution. A strapping tool.
Strapping is a plastic or steel ribbon/tape that holds packages together through tension. A very rigid object can be made out of several boxes just a few strips of strapping tied around the pile in vertical and horizontal directions. Think of a classic christmas present with the ribbon that ties at the top into a pretty bow.
Strapping doesn't have a pretty bow (the strapping solders semi-invisibly) but it is the same principle. There are several ways to work with strapping from the semi-manual strap-cutters all the way up to the pneumatic-industrial strapping machines that wrap, pull, solder and then snip the strapping to a tension and to a timescale that no person could compete with.
So you can get your head around what tools are available and more importantly which one is right for you I have put together a list of the different types of strapping tools that are available. I will come clean right now and tell you that as someone who has had some experience with high-volume small-product packaging I am inclined to favour the hand held strapping machines, in a busy and dynamic factory environment they soon become your right hand.
The various types of strapping tools on the market right now range from snippers and leather gloves, to hand held devices and all the way up to large machines with conveyor belts and "keep clear" signs. Which of these you might need depends on the size of the bundles or pile of boxes you need to strap and how fast you need it done. Here are the main types of strapping tools you will want to consider.

Tips on Mounting Into Dry Walls

Attaching anything to a dry wall is a problem most home owners have faced at some stage. Everything from paintings to mirrors each presents their own problems. In most cases, extremely light objects can be handled with products as simple as double-sided velcro tape. Moving up to heavier objects, the situation becomes more complex. Shelving, whitegoods (dryers, washing machines) and of course, televisions fall into this category.
Unfortunately, studs are not always available. Or, in many cases, only one is in the correct position. All wall types present their unique blend of complications, but mounted correctly, nearly every wall can accommodate a quality TV mount.
Television mounts add to the problem, and not only due to physical weight. Television mounts that extend from the wall exert additional pressure for every inch moved forward. It is important not to use guesswork when mounting into a dry wall. Always consult the manufacturer's instructions to see if the model chosen is suitable for dry wall mounting.
Plus, you must use dry wall anchors supplied. If there is no specific mention of dry wall mounting, don't risk it. Stud walls, in theory, should be uncomplicated. Find the studs, screw in the mounts securely and you're done. But, as simple as this sound, we suggest taking out some time to make sure the job is done correctly.
Firstly, never mount into metal studs. Metal studs are strong, however they present a problem for screw threading, and will never be able to grip adequately due to the very thin wall sections of the studs. When mounting into wooden studs, observe the following:
Find the studs using a battery operated stud finder. If you don't have a stud finder, you can locate the studs by tapping the wall with the base of your palm. The sound should change once you hit the stud area, although this is not a guarantee that you actually locate a stud. Or, tap small nails into the wall close to the skirting board - you'll know once you hit wood.
Try to locate the centre of the stud for maximum strength.
Locate both studs before drilling. One stud may have a metal plate join, meaning you may need to locate your mount slightly higher or lower.
Drill your holes cautiously - it's better to drill to small than too big. You need the tightest fit possible with the hardware that you will be using. Before mounting your TV, check the strength of your brackets by firmly pulling up and down on them.
Remember, studs can be placed at different intervals. If you can only locate one stud within the desired range, don't assume that you can use a dry wall anchor on the other. Dry wall anchors can only be used for mounting products specific to this task.

Shrink Wrap - To Pack Anything and Everything

"Shrink wrap" is a common term that you would definitely come across when it comes to packaging. It is an effective method to store and transport the items easily at an affordable cost. The shrink wrap film is usually made of PVC or polyolefin.
The general wrapping method is the same, irrespective of the size of the item that needs to be wrapped. You can simply measure the shrink wrap film, spread it over the item that is to be packed and apply the heat to the film surface. This causes the film to shrink and stick to the item that ensures a secure packaging.
DIY procedure
You can follow the same procedure for a DIY procedure of shrink wrap packaging with the help of any hair dryer and the film bought from a nearby shop. This is good for casual two or three wrappings but to wrap more items, it is advisable to invest in some good shrink wrap machines.
Traditionally, shrink wrap equipments were used to pack DVDs, CDs, tapes, software boxes and many other things. Besides this, now one can also pack gift baskets, food items, invoices, soaps and documents in the shrink wrap film.
Shrink wrap machines
Earlier, shrink wrapping machineries were usually found in industrial warehouse or factories. They were cumbersome machines are required a lot of people who can operate it. But this is not the case anymore! Small shrink wrap machines are now available for use by individuals and small businesses. These are quite inexpensive and shrink film is also easily accessible at cheaper prices nowadays.
Two kinds of shrink wrap sealers
At present, there are two kinds of machines that are available for shrink wrap: L-bar and I-bar shrink wrap machines. It isn't very difficult to set up these machines.
From low until medium volume of shrink wrapping, I-bar machines are most suitable. This kind of sealer machine utilizes a single bar for sealing. The bar is taken down so as to cut down the required area of the film. Heat gun is then employed to make the film shrink and stick to the item, thereby sealing it.
On the other hand, L-bar sealers or shrink wrappers are effective for middle to high volume of wrapping by the shrink film. Hence, they are more suitable for large business companies. As the name suggests, this kind of sealers make use of a sealer bar that resembles in shape to the English alphabet "L". This bar can easily cut the film for packaging, in a single pass.
Further, the film is made to shrink onto the item with the help of a heat gun or heat tunnel. Heat tunnel makes the process of shrinking faster as compared to the heat gun. Hence, you can find several L-bar sealers that have an in-built tunnel for heat. So, bring a shrink wrap sealer today and say goodbye to the hassles of packaging at once.

Custom Printed Packaging Tape Can Carry Your Branding or Sales Message

Printed packaging tapes can be stock tapes that carry standard messages like FRAGILE, or can be custom printed with your own message. A custom printed packaging tape can act as your brand ambassador during the transit of the package.
Just take adequate care to ensure that both the tape material and printing are good quality. Sub-standard tapes and printing can destroy your image, making people feel that you do not care for quality.
Ordering Custom Printed Packaging Tape
Select a packaging tape that is tailored to your packaging needs. Different kinds of tapes are needed for different types of packages. For example lightweight or heavyweight, single-wall or multi-wall, plain or corrugated, etc packages need packaging tapes of different strengths and adhesive quality.
Packaging tapes can be made from paper, vinyl, PVC, polypropylene or blends. Each has its own characteristics and strengths. The glue used can also differ in the speed and strength of adhesion, and suitability for different surfaces. You have to understand these differences to choose the right kind of packaging tape to meet your needs.
Get the tape custom printed with your company logo, name and contact details at the minimum. Custom printed packaging tapes can also carry additional short promotional messages if they are wide enough. Do the whole thing in a tasteful manner so that your brand image is enhanced, not damaged.
The printing can be done not only on the outer surface of the tape, but also on the inside surface of the tubing that holds the tape. While this message will not go with the package, it might serve other purposes, as when you give plain packaging tape rolls as corporate gifts. More typically, it is the tape supplier who uses this space to remind the customer that it was they who supplied the high quality tape.
The Packaging Tape Real Estate
Marketing oriented companies will not let the packaging tape real estate go waste. With widths of 2 or 3 inches, and printable surfaces, packaging tapes offer a good medium for conveying your brand-building and business-promotional messages.
Several people will see the message on the custom printed packaging tape during its transit. Make them notice your message, through appropriate design, including the message itself, the background, the print quality and other elements.

How to Save on International Shipping and Packaging Service

When it comes to international shipping, consumers and businesses must be aware of the cost; furthermore they need to have the how-to knowledge to deal with international export requirements. Shipping is easy, doing it right can be a challenge; when it comes to international shipping, you can leave it to the professionals to do for a fee or do it yourself and take all the risk.
First you need to know that equation behind shipping cost calculation:
You are paying for space in aircraft! So always keep this in mind when packaging. Also be aware that depending on destinations, some countries may refuse the contents, so always check with carriers. Example, Muslim countries prohibit shipment of anything offensive to religion, so sending a Penthouse Magazine to Kuwait will be confiscated.
Here are few tips on packaging:
1. Choose the Right Box
Use a box that is strong enough to protect the contents and large enough to leave space for adequate cushioning. You can also buy various sizes of boxes, as well as padded mailers, mailing tubes, and other packing materials at the store. If you choose a previously-used box, make sure you remove or cross out any old shipping labels, and make sure the box is in good shape, with no weak spots or cracks. Old or new, make sure the box is made of heavy, corrugated cardboard. Thinner boxes, such as most shoe boxes or gift boxes are not strong enough for shipping.
2. Protect and Pack
Don't skimp on cushioning material. You can use shredded or crumpled newspaper, bubble wrap, or Styrofoam(TM) peanuts, or even plain air-popped popcorn. Pack items tightly to avoid shifting, and make sure the cushioning material covers all sides of the object.
If you're shipping several items together, wrap each one separately and provide enough cushioning to prevent movement.
Fragile items need extra protection:
For extra identification, place a return address label inside the package. After packing, gently shake the box. If nothing moves, it's ready to be sealed.
3. Seal Carefully
A strong seal is essential, so always use tape that is designed for shipping, such as pressure-sensitive tape, nylon-reinforced Kraft paper tape, or glass-reinforced pressure-sensitive tape. These items can be purchased at the store. We recommend you do not use wrapping paper, string, masking tape, or cellophane tape.

An Introduction to Shrink Wrap Machinery

The shrink wrap process involves two stages - the enveloping of the pack in shrink wrap either totally or partially and - the application of heat to the shrink wrap film which activates the material's memory of its non-stretched molecular chains.
The application of shrink wrap can be divided into two principal types - transit and display.
The purpose of transit packaging is to offer the lowest cost option for packaging. The material used is almost exclusively polyethylene, which will provide the appropriate strength at the lowest available cost. A typical application is the collation of individual packs with or without tray support. The most frequent use of the forgoing involves the packaging of a quantity of cans or bottles or cartons for distribution.
The equipment used involves a sleeve or bundle sealer working in conjunction with a shrink tunnel. Two rolls of material produce a sleeve of film around the pack, which is then processed through the tunnel. Generally, these open sleeves do not cause any disadvantages to the pack integrity although a modification can be made to the tunnel whereby an attempt is made to have the hole closed through excess, annealed film.
A considerable amount of automation is offered for this process so that one may find a full range of manual, semi and fully automatic sealers and at maximum through-put, one can find lines with speeds of up to 200 packs per minute.
The processing of polyethylene is distinguished by the need for the shrink wrap film to reach an almost melt state, after which cooling will provide significant additional shrink. As a consequence, tunnels require specific cooling devices if elevated output speeds are needed.
All of this equipment may be used to wrap individual packs where collation is not required but a degree of protection is needed. Applications may vary from radiators through to office doors and bolts of cloth.
The identical processes are also applied but with display shrink film where products have a natural requirement to use a sleeve. Gift wrap and wallpaper rolls fall into this category. The principles remain the same although both the sealer and tunnel will be modified to accommodate individual rolls with appropriately small diameters.
At the most basic level, this is achieved using an L-Sealer and folded film. The product is manually placed between the two layers of film and again manually placed into the sealer. The seal is completed and the pack placed on the tunnel conveyor. This is a continuous process that also produces an element of scrap film.
Automation is applied to the seal head and also to the pack support. Then, the seal process and the removal of the pack to the tunnel become automated. Generally, this is regarded as semi-automation. The clamping of the sealer head will be carried out using either a solenoid or a pneumatic ram. Full automation of an L-sealer will allow packs to be automatically fed into the film and through to the sealer.
